Transport - Overview

The Transport research cluster deals with the efficient operation of transport systems mainly involving air, rail and road transport for passengers and freight.  The research challenges arise due the complexity of transportation networks and the variety of operating constraints that are imposed.  Some examples of current ongoing collaborative research are:

  • aircraft runway scheduling in collaboration with EUROCONTROL and NATS
  • ticket pricing with P&O Ferries
  • scheduling a vehicles carrying passengers or parcels with Logical Transport.

Precise research objectives are currently under discussion and be posted later.
